• You’re invited to join us for a Week of Resistance
to the Line 5 pipeline reroute around Bad River!

The Bad River Band has fought to kick Enbridge’s toxic Line 5 pipeline off their lands, only to be surrounded by more pipe and hazardous construction in their watershed. In solidarity, neighbors in the Chequamegon Bay are hosting a public Week of Resistance from July 20–26 in Ashland, Wisconsin.

Water protectors and friends from near and far are invited to challenge Enbridge’s violence against the land and water. We insist that gathering to reject their destruction is our responsibility: no one will resist alone, and we will not look away.

Join us in monitoring construction, making art, sharing stories, and learning from each other. There will be a rally to bring awareness to the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Relatives crisis. More details coming soon.

We ask that folks show up relatively self sufficient. Locals are not prepared to host everyone with the care they deserve. There will be no central camp for this gathering. There will, however, be abundant places to gather in public, community events to participate in, shared meals, and many opportunities to connect with the land, water, and each other.

When: July 20–26, 2026.

Events will begin on Monday evening. There will be activities all week for locals and visitors to participate in. If you are traveling and can only come for a few days, we encourage you to be here for the latter part of the week, but welcome you to come whenever you can.

Please find the full calendar of events below.

Where: In and around Ashland, WI.

Locations for programming and meals will be updated on the schedule on the website as the week approaches. Check the site for updates!

There will be no central camp or lodging provided for visitors joining us for the week. We encourage everyone to find somewhere in the area to camp or stay, and folks with access needs can email resistline5july@proton.me for support requests. The Adventure Map includes recommendations of places to camp, as well as other things to know about the area.

Please RSVP for meals!

We will be providing some number of community meals throughout the week. For visitors and locals, please RSVP here for all meals you would like to attend so we can plan.

FAQs

No. This event is scheduled over many days to prioritize local folks attending when they can around their rhythms of work and life. We’re also excited that visitors want to lend their support to the fight with whatever time they have. Come for what you can!

There no central camp for this gathering. We invite everyone to find camping accomodations by exploring the Advendure Map above, which highlights points of interest and the pipeline construction itself.

We have some funds available to offer mutual aid around housing accessibility. If you cannot camp and cannot afford overnight accomodations, we can offer some money for hotel stays. Please be aware, however, that Enbridge workers have booked most hotels in the area.

We also have some limited camping gear to share.

If you need support on accomodations, please reach out at resistline5july@proton.me.
